It allows people to navigate a Google map to find their neighborhood or other areas of interest and to get data specifically for their area.
First, find your neighborhood, either by navigating the map or by typing in an address or intersection. Then, click on the map to draw an outline around your neighborhood. Then, click a submit button and it will retrieve data specifically for the area that you've drawn on the map.
At the moment, we have data that shows the address and price of recent home sales, as well as the results of recent inspections of grocery stores and restaurants, and crime data for Avondale, Buckeye, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix, Tempe and Tolleson. There's also some schools data, including the school's address, name and enrollment figure.
The Sun Cities, and other unincorporated communities in Maricopa County, are patrolled by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. At this time, MCSO is not providing data to us in an electronic format, unlike other Valley law enforcement agencies.
We are updating our data each week so that it shows the most recent 30 days worth of data for crimes, home sales and restaurant and grocery store inspections. The schools data is updated yearly as the data becomes available.
Not at this time. The police departments are providing calls-for-service data, which involve reports of possible crimes. That data doesn't include details such as whether a suspect has been arrested. It generally provides the date, time, location and type of crime that was reported.
We will be adding new datasets and new features periodically. If you have any ideas or requests, we'd like to hear from you. You can type in your ideas, comments and questions by clicking on the feedback tab.
